The Shame and Fear You’re Carrying Right Now
Look, after divorce you may feel ashamed. You may feel like you let God down or that He sees you differently now. The guilt can stay with you. Some women even start to hate themselves for what happened or try to act like it didn’t hurt as much as it did. Fear comes with it too — fear of what people will say, fear about the future, fear that you’re not wanted by God anymore.
All of this is real. But none of it is from the Father. Look at where this shame, guilt, self-hatred and fear are actually coming from.
Who’s Really Behind the Accusation After Divorce
All that shame, guilt, self-hatred and self-denial you may be feeling is not from the Father. It’s coming from the accuser. Satan and his kingdom are behind much of the mess on the earth. They don’t have bodies of their own, so they work through people — even Christians who call on Jesus but haven’t been taught they can still be influenced by evil spirits.
Those spirits use guilt to trap you, shame to make you feel disqualified. They push self-hatred and self-denial so you stay away from the Father instead of running to Him. This is their work, not His. And it’s not because you’re bad.
Take Abigail in the Old Testament. She was married to a harsh and ungodly man, yet God protected her and made a way for her. Take the woman at the well in the New Testament. She had five husbands and was living with a man who wasn’t her husband. Jesus still sat with her, told her the truth, and she went and told her whole town about Him. God didn’t reject these women because of their situations. So He is not rejecting you.
The accuser wants you to stay ashamed and far from God. But the Father says you are covered and adopted. We have to stop agreeing with the accuser and start believing what the Father says about you.
You Are Adopted and Covered by Father God No Matter What
Even after divorce you are still adopted by the Father. Your situation does not change what He says about you. You still belong to Him. Divorce does not cancel your place as His daughter or take away His love for you.
The accuser wants you to believe you are disqualified now. That you somehow lost your standing.
But that is a lie. Your covering comes from what Jesus did, not from how your marriage turned out.
You have a choice. You can keep agreeing with the shame and stay distant, or you can choose to come under the Father’s authority and let Him cover you right where you are. That choice belongs to you.
Forgiveness Is Straight Between You and the Father
Forgiveness is for you. It is a choice you make straight between you and the Father. You don’t forgive because the other person deserves it or because they changed. You forgive so you stop carrying what they did to you.
You won’t forget what happened. But you won’t feel the pain the same way anymore. The weight lifts when you bring it to the Father and choose to forgive. Healing starts in His house, not in waiting for the other person to understand or admit anything.
This is your choice. And it is one of the steps that brings you back under the covering the Father has for you.
Don’t Listen to Every Voice Around You After Divorce
After divorce you will hear plenty of opinions from family and friends. Some will tell you what you should do, how long you should grieve, or what kind of woman you are now. Not everything they say is from God.
Don’t listen to every voice. Only pay attention to what actually lines up with Scripture. If someone is speaking from the Bible with a right heart, bring it to the Father and talk to Him about it. But if it’s just people’s opinions, pressure, or shame, you don’t have to carry it.
You answer to the Father. Protect what He is doing in you and don’t let every voice pull you off track.
Coming Back Into the Father’s House
After everything, you can come back into the Father’s house. He is not pushing you away. There is provision for what you need — peace, wisdom, strength, and real covering. God has you.
Divorce was never His first desire. But when a relationship is not godly and cannot be made right, you are not left outside. The Father still receives you. You can walk back into His house and live under His covering again.
This is where healing and a new direction begin.
Walking Differently Now (the new way to live)
Now that you are coming back under the Father’s covering, there is a different way to live. Don’t go into lust. Don’t let envy or jealousy take hold in you. Don’t let people tell you what you must do or how you must live your life now.
If someone speaks from the Bible with a right heart, bring it to the Father and talk to Him about it. But don’t take in every opinion or pressure. You belong to Him now. Live in a way that honors the Father and protects what He is doing in you.
There Is a Real Way Out — Healing Is for Today
You don’t have to stay stuck in the shame, guilt, fear, or self-hatred. There is a real way out. You can choose to forgive. You can stop listening to every voice around you. You can come back into the Father’s house. You can live differently now under His covering.
Healing is for today. The Father has adopted you and covers you. Jesus is the Truth that breaks the lies. The Holy Ghost gives you power to walk free. The accuser has been exposed. Now choose what the Father says about you instead of what the enemy keeps saying. That is how you get free.
